17 Dec Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Where does one even begin? We haven’t seen crowds in the streets like this since the 1960s. We haven’t had a viral pandemic like this in over a century. Never in our nation’s history has a presidential election been so uniquely emotionally charged.
2020 has sixteen days left as of this writing, and we’re not going to dare it to try anything more. We’re a tired nation, surrounded by a tired planet and hemmed in by our internal struggles, and yet we’re surviving. And what’s more, we’re learning more each day about our limits as a society and as a species.
We have also seen this year some of the boldest ingenuity and most tremendous acts of kindness. The worldwide pharmaceutical industry mobilized like never before to produce multiple, highly effective vaccines against the novel coronavirus, while over 1,700 of our health care workers in the U.S. have sacrificed their lives fighting COVID-19. In the last four months McKenzie Scott, philanthropist, and author (and former wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos), has donated nearly $4.2 billion of her personal fortune to a list of 384 organizations variously tasked with improving the outcomes of people struggling in poverty through the pandemic.
Everywhere we choose to look we can find people quietly helping as they go about their lives – people who understand that the heart of a nation beats when we come together as a people to protect what is vital, to defend what is sacred, to repair what is frayed, and to rebuild even slightly more perfectly the next time.
A thousand times ‘thank you’ to all of our partners. Our employees, vendors, and our valued customers have helped DTS Logistics to weather the storm of 2020. Armed with the courage you’ve given us, we stand committed to making 2021 an outstanding year of dedication and prosperity for everyone we touch.
Please do your best to have a Merry Christmas, and we’ll see you in 2021!
